Arnica, aka Mexican Arnica or Camphor Weed, is an extremely therapeutic plant that has been used medicinally since the 1500s. It is great for arthritis and bruising, soothing muscle aches, and reducing inflammation and joint pain. Mexican Arnica is said to be best used when" it hurts to move" because it is a tissue sedative (as opposed to how Arnica Montana is used which is when "it hurts to be still"). Just rub some on the affected area and gently massage into the skin.
Magically, Arnica is believed to increase psychic powers and visions. From working with this plant, I believe it to possess protective powers. The plant from which this oil is made (whom I named Arnie) certainly seems to stand guard of my home and is quite territorial. Just look at his photos; he is a very animated plant. His camphorated aroma leads me to believe he also functions well as a cleansing agent and road opener.
